Take advantage of this opportunity to work at the Brit Oval this summer!

The Area Manager will organise all stewarding and security duties as required by the Chief Steward. You will perform these duties in a professional manner and strive to exceed expectations. You will be responsible for the operational delivery of an entire area to oversee the response and search operation and ensure that all requirements are being delivered. You must fully understand all emergency procedures, and lead your team in managing any evacuation of the venue under direction of the Chief Steward. Working with all senior level managers you must ensure the safety and enjoyment of all customers while motivating your team to perform to a high standard.

Health & Safety is a large part of the role and you must work with the safety of your colleagues and customers always at the forefront of your mind, and as a key driving process behind all decision making.

All candidates should have significant experience in the Sports and Events Industry, with particular experience in a Stewarding Management role. Area managers must be available for all major events at The Oval, with dates as follows:
  • Tuesday, 8th June (Twenty20)
  • Thursday 10th June (Twenty20)
  • Friday, 18th June (Twenty20)
  • Sunday, 20th June (Twenty20)
  • Tuesday, 22nd June (Twenty20)
  • Wednesday, 30th June (One Day International)
  • Friday, 2nd July (Twenty20)
  • Sunday, 4th July (Twenty20)
  • Thursday, 8th July (Twenty20)
  • Friday, 9th July (Twenty20)
  • Weds 18th - Sun 22nd August (Test Match)
  • Friday, 17th September (One Day International)

Requirements

The requirements of this position include: 

  • Taking instruction from management. 
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Being punctual and presentable.
  • Being vigilant and customer focused.
  • Availability to work all Domestic Twenty 20 fixtures in June, plus international matches on 30th June, 18th-22nd August, and 17th September.
  • Completion of NVQ3 in Spectator Safety
  • SIA Door Supervisor License required
