Description

Travel Trade Consultant required for Akkeron Hotels to be based in Birmingham.

The key role will involve :-

  • Being the first point of contact for travel trade enquiries at Akkeron Hotels
  • Enquiry handling to ensure all guest requirements are clear & concise
  • Providing accurate sales proposals for each enquiry taking every opportunity to maximise revenue spend
  • Co-ordination of enquiries to ensure that all enquires are followed up and converted
  • Provide analysis reporting/tracking on all group enquiries  to the Travel Trade Sales Manager and hotels to allow them to assess the productivity of groups and their value
  • Offering support to the Central Reservations Office in taking inbound calls from a variety of different customer types inc leisure and business customers
  • Making outgoing calls to secure conversion of bookings
  • Processing customer details and bookings into our central reservation system
  • Liaising with the Group Travel Trade Sales Manager
  • Liaising with hotels to ensure that the information being supplied to the customer is accurate

Requirements

Excellent telephone skills are essential for this primarily phone based role along with strong computer skills and a willingness to learn.

The candidate will be able to engage easily with customers and build a good rapport to convert business with previous sales/travel industry experience and a high level of attention to detail.

There will be occasional trade exhibitions to attend, it is therefore important that you are comfortable talking to people face to face.

Whilst the position will be based South of Birmingham initial training will take place in Swindon.
