Spend the winter working in the French Alps!
We have an opening for a chalet domestic / housekeeper for this coming Winter Ski Season, based in our Aravis Lodge near the ski resorts of Grand Bornand and La Clusaz.
With over 220km of pistes the resorts are popular with our returning British guests, but are still predominantly French, meaning you won’t be based in a 'mini-Britain' as you are in some of the bigger resorts.
As we specialise in short breaks we have two days of changeover in a week which are busy days when guest bedrooms need to be cleaned and remade for the new guests. During these days you are working to tight deadline and it is often an intense few hours of cleaning and ensuring that the highest standards are maintained.
Other days are more relaxed and you are able to manage your workload and timings accordingly. Daily servicing of the rooms is required and the communal areas all need to be cleaned and presented - and the laundry (washing & ironing) is a constant duty throughout. A well organised approach to the tasks will ensure that you are able to enjoy plenty of skiing time during the day.
As well as the domestic side, your role will involve guest interaction and you would be very much involved in the day to day delivery of our holidays through such things as evening activities (sledging, snow walks). We all work very closely as a team.
You can generally expect to work until mid-morning, followed by the afternoon off, before returning for laundry task for the early evening. This can vary on changeover days. A full day off is taken mid week. You will receive 120€ a week (after taxes). Your accommodation is provided in a comfortable self-contained apartment close to the Lodge, and will be fully furnished and equipped. |

Your job will include all housekeeping, room servicing and laundry duties and ensuring our guests are well cared for throughout their stay. You will work along side our resident domestic couple but you would take main responsibility for the cleanliness and efficient operation of the lodge.
Previous experience of a cleaning or housekeeping role would be beneficial.
Applicants will ideally need a UK or EU passport or a French working visa, although UK visas may be sufficient for the right candidate. |
